NAO Robot
The iconic NAO v6 by Softbank is a small humanoid robot that has been featured often in research and popular media. It has quite good degrees of freedom in it's body and limbs, enabling detailed and complex gestures and behaviours.
The SDK and API's support various ways of interaction, like speech recognition and synthesis, facial / object recognition, audio and motion tracking. The Choregraphe toolkit allows a visual-style programming of behaviours.
